Today’s post is going to be my favourite quotes from the books I read in the month of June. This is going to be quite a short post as two of the books I read in June were non-fiction and so I don’t tend to focus too much on my favourite quotes in these.
So without further ado…
Before the Coffee Gets Cold: Tales from the Café by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
“Seasons flow in a cycle.
Life too, passes through difficult winters.
But after any winter, spring will follow.”
“We can never truly see into the hearts of others. When people get lost in their own worries they can be blind to the feelings of those most important to them.”
“The visual and auditory information that enters the mind is distorted by experiences, thoughts, circumstances, wild fancies, prejudices, preferences, knowledge, awareness, and countless other workings of the mind.”
Desire by Haruki Murakami
“I myself have adopted the position that, in fact, we never choose anything at all. Things happen. Or not.”
“No matter what they wish for, no matter how far they go, people can never be anything but themselves.”
“Everything is blowing up around us, but there are still those who care about a broken lock and others who are dutiful enough to try to fix it … But maybe that’s the way it should be. Maybe working on the little things as dutifully and honestly as we can is how we stay sane when the world is falling apart.”
As I said, a pretty short blog post today!
Thank you for reading!
