It’s that time of the month again where I get to talk to you all about the things I’ve been loving during March.
As I write this, the sun is shining in England and lockdown rules have been relaxed; it really does feel like Spring is on the move and brighter, happier times are ahead. I hope you’re all feeling as positive as you can be and I hope you all had a lovely month. Let me know in the comments what you enjoyed/read/listened to/watched this month!
Mad About Skin (Youtube)
I’ve always been really into my skincare and I love getting most of my recommendations from Youtubers. Rob at Mad About Skin is a recent find for me, but I just love how informative his videos are without being too complex and scientific. He shows that skincare doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated to be good for you. I’ve really got some amazing recommendations from Rob and feel very grateful for his videos to guide me through my skincare journey.
First Glimpse of Blossoms
March was the month that I caught my first glimpse of the cherry blossoms. The line of cherry blossom trees down my road has started to bloom and it honestly makes me so happy. The cherry blossom period is so fleeting (only around 2 weeks) but it’s honestly one of my favourite times of year!
Like everyone in lockdown, I decided that now would be the perfect time to learn another language and, as my boyfriend is Italian, we thought that would be the best option. I’m fluent in French and studied Spanish at school so learning Italian has felt very similar and has given me a sense of nostalgia for learning languages at school. I’m really enjoying it so far and find Duolingo very helpful – the way the tasks are laid out, the way the lessons are divided up… I also find it really helpful that Duolingo sends you reminders to do your lessons!
Hot Cross Buns
It’s very nearly Easter and here in the UK that means hot cross buns are everywhere! Like blossoms, I get so excited at this time of year because besides Spring being on the move, I love the Easter food (Easter eggs, hot cross buns…). I could pretty much eat a hot cross bun every day, but I do try to hold back a little bit.
There’s a new series of Taskmaster on Channel 4 and I’m absolutely here for it. I completely adored the last series with Daisy May Cooper (who is one of my favourite comedy actors) and this series is shaping up to be great. It really does make my Thursday’s a lot better.
If you don’t know what Taskmaster is, it’s basically a show where comedians and actors get together to compete in small tasks that get them to think outside of the box (often ending up with very silly results). It’s great fun!
Thanks for reading!
