October Favourites

Hi everyone,

It’s that time of the month again where I get to talk about all the things I’ve been loving recently.

There’s not too many favourites to talk through this month;a couple of films, a TV show and a Youtube channel.

So without further ado…

Enola Holmes

Enola Holmes on Netflix was my favourite film of the month! The film follows Enola Holmes (Sherlock Holmes’ little sister) as she searches for her missing mum. It is such a fun watch with a mystery at the centre of it. The film is one of those charming, light-hearted films that you could watch again and again.

Little Women (1994)

I’ve read the book and watched the 2019 film version directed by Greta Gerwig. However, I had never watched the 1994 version starring Winona Ryder and Christian Bale. This was such a great adaptation and it’s really difficult for me to choose whether I prefer the 2019 or 1994 version. This film felt so cosy and festive.

Gilmore Girls

For years and years I’ve always heard people raving about Gilmore Girls and how they always watch it when autumn comes round. This year, I decided to give it a go and I absolutely love it! The perfect autumnal TV show. I’m only on series 2 now but I’m obsessed and can’t wait to watch the rest. I now completely understand the hype!

Though I’ve always loved yoga, this year I have found myself doing it less and less and I think that’s because I’ve been focusing more on cardio and pilates workouts. This month I’ve been getting back into doing yoga daily as it’s such a great workout for the mind and body.

One channel I have discovered recently and have really been enjoying is SarahBethYoga. I really love her Weekday Yoga videos (Monday yoga, Tuesday yoga etc. etc.) as they encourage me to practice every day. She has such a wide range of videos available and there’s something for everyone and every mood. I also love that her voice is so calming and she talks through all of the poses so well; I rarely have to glance at the video to check what’s happening.

If you’re looking to do some more yoga, I would definitely recommend her channel.

I hope you had an enjoyable month and I hope you’re managing to maintain some semblance of calm even amidst the looming second lockdown here in the UK.

Thanks for reading!

Love, Zoë xx

  1. I know some people have issues with the 1994 adaptation of Little Women but I’ve always loved it. Like you say, it’s comforting, and I know I always take a lot from it the more I rewatch or re-read it.

      1. I agree. I think when I said ‘issues’, I meant to say I’ve known people who don’t like it for whatever reason, but to each their own.
