My Favourite Comfort Reads

Hi everyone,

Following on from my last two posts about my favourite films and TV shows to watch when I’m feeling down, I felt it was only right to write a post on my favourite comfort reads.

My favourite comfort reads tend to be stories that are generally lighter in topic, often children’s classics or stories that remind me of my childhood, set in spring/summer.

It goes without saying but of course all the Harry Potter books would be on this list however, I have tried to not mention them for once and instead focus on other books (as everyone knows reading Harry Potter is perfect for any situation!)

Let me know your favourite comfort reads down below – I know I could definitely use some more suggestions right now!

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer

84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Matilda by Roald Dahl

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Peter Pan by JM Barrie

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Emma by Jane Austen

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian

Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman

Thanks for reading!

Love, Zoë xx
