As Autumn is slowly creeping up on us, I thought now would be a good time to write a blog post about what I’m planning on reading in the months of September, October and November.
I’ve stopped doing TBR’s regularly because, honestly, I just can’t stick to them. I struggle to decide what I want to read in a month especially when I’m such a mood reader and my mind will change constantly. However, for my Autumn TBR I figured that choosing a few books to read throughout three months might just work for me.
#1 Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
I read this last Autumm and absolutely loved it! It’s such an Autumnal and gothic book.
#2 Dracula by Bram Stoker
Again, this book is perfect for Autumn and I really enjoyed reading it last year. I feel like it’s a central book in Autumn reading!
#3 The Witch Finder’s Sister by Beth Underdown
I love reading historical fiction in Autumn and this book about the Manningtree witch trials in Essex sounds perfect!
#4 The Victorian Underworld by Kellow Chesney
This book is a non-fiction book about what lies underneath Victorian society. I’m really interested in learning more about this period, so this book should be great!
#5 The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens
I’ve always thought Charles Dickens’ gothic, dark novels are great for Autumn!
#6 Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell
This book has been on my TBR shelf for a long, long time and I’m really excited to finally get down and read it!
#7 The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry
The cover of this book is absolutely beautiful and I’ve heard really good things about it!
#8 The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
#9 Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
And finally, a book left-over from Austen August. I am currently reading Persuasion by Jane Austen so am looking forward to continuing to explore Austen’s world.
Thanks for reading!
