A massive thank you to Kiersten at @ Once Upon a Spine for tagging me in the 3 days, 3 quotes tag! I’ve been really excited to do this for a while now, but am only just getting around to it. Some of my most favourite quotes are from books, so this tag is a perfect opportunity to let you guys have a glimpse of some of them!

For Day 1, I’m going to share with you a quote from a book I’m currently reading (and loving!) which is The Power by Naomi Alderman:
“Gender is a shell game. What is a man? Whatever a woman isn’t. What is a woman? Whatever a man is not. Tap on it and it’s hollow. Look under the shells: it’s not there.” – The Power by Naomi Alderman
I’m currently loving this book however, I know there is some controversy around it. It’s set in a world where women discover they have the power to control electricity and inflict pain on others, shifting the balance of the sexes and disempowering men. I think this is a really important book to read as it focuses on systematic biases, institutionalised oppression and the unequal distribution of power in society.
